I fucking hate school
I seriously don't see a point of me continuing. the stuff i learn in class, i'm never gona use them again. i'm never in my life going to a psychiatrist or some kinda neuro fucking scientisit. seriously, who gives a fuck what visual field does what and how you perceive image etc. studyin for that shit seriusly put me on life fuckin tilt so much. i don't know what to do. i'd love to be able to not goto school and do my thing all day but i know going to school and finishin it would be the "right" thing to do....
I always thought, you know i have just 1 year left, i guess i'll just grind it out. but right now, i feel like its SUCH a waste of time its not even funny. i have 0 motivation and everything about school pisses the shit outa me. seriously in a dilemma here. i just talked to my mom and obv she doesn't like the idea. she told me u kno college is 'basic' education and its basically a requirement for "most" ppl. but i told her, "mom i aint no most ppl, i'm not gona be a normal person if you haven't been able to tell already..." n she just got kinda upset and i hate to see that happen cuz i kno she wants the best for me but i don't really know what her son has become right now....i'm making TWICE to THREE times the salary of a medical doctor in Asia. a decent one that is.....
this is the figure here:
normal salary in taiwan USD: $700-1k
manager salary in taiwna: $2k
doctor salary in taiwan: $5-7k
small time celeb: $3-4k
me in february (1st month at nl400): $21k
i dont' know what else to say but i think the money speaks for itself really. i'm not so concerned about the money right nwo but i don't know why this kind of figure is not convinceable for my mom to realize that i have soooooooo much potential in poker. i didn't just realize that today but i've known that i will be the best one day, not because i have some kinda supernatural power that can seee through your soul, but because i'm going to work harder than everyone else. i've always aimed my eyes at the top and until i reach it, i'm not gona stop....i just feel like school is kinda slowing me down in my progress to the top and i'm not really sure what to do. after all, "dropping out" of college is a HUGE disgrace for the society in asia and you guys all know that asian ppl love "FACE" more than anything else. they want to brag which college their son graduated from...
i'm really in a dilemma here because i know that for now, the "right" thing to do is to just stick it in and finish schoool because 'normal' ppl would do it. but what is the "best" thing to do for me at this point. maybe i'm being blinded here in reality bcuz i'm overestimating my poker abilities, which i dont' think i am.....but maybe some of you guys can give me some inputs on what you think. i know many of you have families and jobs and are older than i am....what do you guys suggest?
ps. i'm thinkin about bein a balla n just paying someone to pass all the classes for me. i'm serious. albeit not the most princely thing to do, but sounds like a solution to me lol. n yes i'm serious

The word education derives from the latin verb: educere (with a long u), meaning "to lead out" or "to lead forth". There is an English word from this verb, "eduction": drawing out or to develop innate abilities and expand horizons.
You need to see your "education" as beyond just being an avenue into a "safe" job that is failure or at best mediocrity.
Think of your education as a vehicle by means of which you can have a wonderful and enriching life. If you use this as a measure you will be better able to decide if where you are wrt school is where you want to be.
As you said, you only have one more year to go and then you have all the possibilities in the world.
To be honest I recognize myself in your thoughts a lot. Not because I'm making $21k a month yet, but because I see that there is potential to make more than that. This is where poker has sort of "damaged" me in the sense that I will not be able to sit down with a stabil monthly salary that is way too low and isn't affected by my skills as much as I want it to be.
My route was to switch my educational path. Since I knew I don't want to be hired and do some 9-5 job, I sort of jumped off my engineering class and am now looking in to educations which are more geared towards investing and economy, which I certainly know lays more in my interest. This also gives me a great way of making the moest out of my poker profits in a way, while still giving me a huge backup if I want to change course from poker.
A college exam is more than just a proof that you have X amount of knowledge in whatever area. It also proves that you are able to learn new information effectively. This is invaluable for whatever you want to accomplish in life. Not only does it make it a whole lot easier to get a job if that's what you want in your future, but it also gives you an instant bump of your standing in the society. That's the way our knowledge oriented society.
Whatever you do, goodluck, and don't make any hasty decisions.
